This CI+ module is used for legal access to Norlys aerial TV, previously distributed under the Boxer TV name. The module is an SMiT Boxer CI+ CAM v1.3 using Viaccess, designed for equipment with a CI+ (Common Interface Plus) slot, typically flat-screen TVs with a built-in DVB-T2 tuner and DVB-T2 receiver boxes with CI+.

Important: a CAM is not a tuner

A CAM/CA module is not a TV tuner. It works together with the DVB-T or DVB-T2 tuner already inside your TV or receiver. The tuner receives the antenna signal, while the CAM handles conditional access (Viaccess) using your operator smartcard.

Multiple streams (multi decrypt) for recording and multi-tuner receivers

A key benefit of this CI+ v1.3 model is support for multiple simultaneous streams. This can be relevant for multi-tuner receivers and PVR recording. Real-world results depend on your TV/receiver, software and subscription, and some devices may impose limitations.

Example (multi-tuner receiver)

The module has been used in a Dreambox DM920 with two DVB-T2 tuners and two CA modules installed. This can enable scenarios like recording one channel while watching another, or recording multiple channels across different multiplexes, provided that two active smartcards are used. Other receivers may behave differently.
